Spring Is In the Air

I apologize to all of you readers who are trying to keep tabs on Marvelous Maddy Rae and her latest and greatest accomplishments; this has been a very busy month, and I have been grossly remiss in updating our blog. Nevertheless, here are many pictures and videos that I hope will compensate for my negligence. We are all doing quite well, in spite of our busy lives, and having lots of fun. Maddy is readying herself for crawling, rolling all over the place and "downward dogging" her way towards objects that we place slightly out of reach. She's like a little inch-worm as she attempts to move herself towards her target. She is an amazing little baby; she is so happy and easy going. She is loving food, and her repertoire of solids now includes: brown rice, oatmeal, bananas, peaches, apricots, prunes, pears, blueberries, raspberries, lentils, green beans, peas, spinach, carrots, sweet potato, and some concoction named "summer vegetable dinner." We've been purchasing organic, pureed fruits and vegetables. I suspect it's cheaper to do this than to buy and make meals ourselves, simply because we don't have the capacity to store homemade baby food in bulk. We also have tried to introduce her to a cup, but she hasn't been too keen on it thus far. She does, however, like it when we remove the spout and gently tip some water into her mouth even though more than half of it ends up soaking her clothes. Maddy has also discovered her voice. She shrieks and screeches in joy and frustration all day long. Two weeks ago we were in Barnes and Noble and we had to cut our visit short due to Maddy's operatic performance. Her voice resonated throughout the store, which seemed to delight most of the customers nearby, though I suspect there were just as many who were happy to see us depart. We got a kick out of it and love her vocalizations, even as we plea with her to please turn down the volume!

Hard to believe that she'll be six months old next Friday. Where is the time going?!
