Glamour Shots

We've had a great week back in Watertown and have enjoyed a less hectic schedule and some fun visits with friends of mine that also have babies. The support and camraderie I derive from fellow first-time mothers has been so essential these past few months. We even got together with the ladies and babes from our Isis group for lunch at the Cheesecake Factory yesterday, and a Rashi holiday party last Saturday night helped to ease some of my anxiety about heading back to the classroom. After spending some time with my work colleagues, I am feeling much more at peace with my inevitable and impending return to school. I was supposed to head over to Rashi tomorrow to talk about the transition back, but due to an approaching snow storm all of the school districts are cancelling classes...including Rashi. Even Ethan will have an early dismissal tomorrow! I hope there are some snow days when I go back after the winter vacation; they are always a treat. In any case, it will be nice to have some snuggly family time at home this weekend, and I'm looking forward to taking some pictures of Maddy and her first real snow fall! We also are anticipating Madelyn's first Hannukah, and are excited to head to Andover on Sunday to light the menorah and enjoy some latkes. This really is a most wonderful time of the year!

One of my goals this year is to get photos taken of Madelyn every month to help us chronicle her growth and development. We've been going over to Portrait Simple on her montly "birthday," and they've taken some beautiful pictures. I'm attaching a couple from our last session. Notice her irreverant gesture in the last; I'm sure this will end up as a yearbook photo in 2026 and am hoping it's not an indication that we have a subversive and militant adolescence to look forward to!
