July 4th

Happy Independence Day! No, I am not pregnant again...these pictures were taken a year ago. I was feeling great; I was big enough that people could tell for sure that I was pregnant (as
opposed to sporting some surplus chub), but not so big that I was uncomfortable. We were at the Segaloff house for a barbeque, and Rachel was pregnant as well, commenting on my belly and excited to be not too far behind. I remember thinking that this July 4th "Wee-Dogg" would be nine months old, which was nearly impossible for me to fathom. Today at the barbeque, she was playing and sitting next to Evan Max, and it was just so clear how quickly time passes, even when moments or days or weeks seem to drag. Given all that's gone on, it was a welcome reminder that everything will be different soon enough. A year from now, we'll look back on today with the same kind of wonder. There is still so much fun, happiness, and love in our lives. We are learning and growing from our current challanges in ways that can only serve us in the end. I am grateful for the reminder that each day needs to be embraced and appreciated.

Here's to where we're at, where we've been, and where we're going!
